Tool Architecture

Two main sections of RSS:
Bias unit
build into a main body with three blades which convert hydraulic pressure drop into mechanical energy that push the blades against the formation and steer the well
Control collar
consists of an outer housing (drill collar) and an internal Control Unit
The Control Unit contains:
  • electronic and sensor chassis
  • upper and lover bearing
  • suspensions
  • austenitic pressure housing
  • turbine altermators
  • antenna
